This is a wide shot from the beginning of our trailer. The reason we included this place into our trailer is because it shows our target audience the location and the characters in our trailer. From this shot we can see that our characters are portrayed as being vulnerable because of the trees that happen to be towering over them making them look insignificant. We used the lighting in this shot because it is light in the centre, however it gets darker the further down the shot, this represents the darkness that is coming for them towards the end of the trailer.
this is another shot that we as a group decided to place into our trailer, the reason for this is because earlier on in the project we had to research different shots that were within our Thriller genre. The Sun newspaper main target audience is older men, we chose this because older men tend to watch thriller movies because of the good looking girls that are included in the movies. we used the word riveting this is because it creates an impression of a trailer that is filled with excitement and suspense. this then builds up an idea that the film is everything that our target audience wanted enough to watch the film. during the course of our research we had to look at different reviews that were involved in the same genre of our trailer. when thinking about what review to put we wanted to include the word riveting because of the amount of suspense it had.
this shot is at the end of the trailer, this is the title of our film. we placed it centre stage, the reason we did this is because when things are placed in the centre they tend to be important, and the title for a movie is important. we gave the title a big font to because it will stand out more and the audience will also remember the name. we put this shot at the end because we felt that the audience would know the name of the film if it was placed at the end of the trailer. in the audio we placed two screams as a voice over. we did this to make the audience
in regards to real media reviews they are always stamped with an award to show how far their film has been successful. when researching earlier on in our project we found that it was very important and powerful to have this kind of shot put in, it shows the target audience when watching it how successful the film is which will then hopefully make them want to see it. so we then decided to place it in, we as a group decided to go with Audience Choice Award because it shows the audience that other people who are their age think that this trailer is worth a see
this is another shot that we included into our trailer. this shot is a low angle shot it also shows a direct gaze of the protagonist in the trailer. however we have broken away from the typical Thriller trailer, the reason for this is because we have gotten her to film it herself instead of a professional camera. The reason that we have chosen this angle is it because it then lets the audience have a close up of the characters expression on her face. it shows the fear and curiosity on her face when she is heading towards the woods. this follows a typical Thriller trailer because it lets the audience know that the main character is always the ' chosen one'
this shot is of 2 of our 3 characters in our film, it is the pro and antagonist. we think as a group we fit in to the conventions of most trailers that fit our genre. this is where the protagonist is hiding something to give a feeling of suspense. the angle of this shot allows us to see both characters and the type of location that they are in. we decided to go for a middle shot is because we wanted both of the characters to be seen, with a bit of location to make the audience aware. the background of this shot gives the audience an understanding of the location and the way the characters are placed, to suggest that an accident may occur, however when that will happen, the audience doesn't know. the reason for this is because we wanted the audience to be engaged in the film.
